Scholarships can help make higher education affordable. Unlike federal student loans, these do not have to be repaid. Many students may think that they are not eligible for scholarships because they either don’t have a 4.0 or don’t excel at a sport.  But with hundreds of thousands awarded each year, anyone can find a scholarship that suites them.

Scholarships are awarded for many different reasons, including:

  • Special qualifications, including academic, athletic and artistic
  • Interest in a particular field of study
  • Underrepresented groups
  • From certain areas in the country
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Exceptional community service
  • Specific talents, such as being left-handed

To find these scholarship opportunities that you can apply to, try looking on online directories, check the bulletin boards at your career counselor or at the public library. There are so many out there that you are bound to find one you are eligible for. Check now!
